NEXT IN LINE ANNOUNCES SEVERAL POLICY CHANGES DESIGNED TO IMPROVE CUSTOMER
SERVICE
Several recent complaints regarding NEXT IN LINE customer service have caused
us to reconsider some of our policies and procedures. The following changes
are designed to improve relations with our customers:
* Several subscribers have complained of not receiving issue #1. All
subscriptions received up until issue #2 is mailed will start with issue #2
(issue #1 is free and does not count towards your subscription). There was
some confusion concerning who needed issue #1 and who did not. Consequently,
several subscribers expecting issue #1 never received it. We apologize for
the confusion and will be happy to send anyone a copy of our premiere issue.
If you have not received issue #1, please contact us:

* Effective immediately, NEXT IN LINE no longer accepts email subscriptions.
This decision was made due to several recent complaints about email
subscriptions not being processed. Some of these subscriptions simply never
reached us. Until we have a 99% effective system in place for accepting email
subscriptions, we are suspending this service.
* NEXT IN LINE will be posting a copy of our subscription form, in PostScript
format, to all major NEXTSTEP archives this week, including
Stepwise (ftp://ftp.stepwise.com/pub/NEXT_IN_LINE/)
(http://www. stepwise.com/NEXT_IN_LINE/subscription.ht)
and our server
(ftp://nil.com).
This should make it easier for users around the world to subscribe.
* Effective immediately, NEXT IN LINE no longer accepts "Bill Me"
subscriptions. This pertains only to United States residents as we have
always required foreign orders to be prepaid. NEXT IN LINE is a rapidly
growing publication. We must, however, still conserve resources whenever
possible. At the moment, the added expense of generating, mailing, and
tracking invoices is not justifiable, especially considering that all sample
copies requested are mailed with a pre-addressed business reply envelope. All
"Bill Me" subscriptions received before Monday, September 19 will be honored.
Invoices will arrive with the next issue of NEXT IN LINE.
* Any current subscriber requiring a receipt above and beyond his/her
cancelled check or charge on his/her credit card statement, should contact us
directly:

All receipts will be mailed with the next issue of NEXT IN LINE. Future
subscribers will be given the option (on our new subscription form) to select
whether or not they wish to receive a receipt.
We'd like to thank all of our subscribers for their patience and
understanding. The above measures will insure better service in the future.
And, finally, we'd like to encourage our readers to tell us what we can do to
further improve service. Virtually all of the above-mentioned changes are the
direct result of customer feedback. We do listen. So, speak up!
Thank you.
